Writing

is a craft.

Writing always feels like searching. A search for what is there, as much as a search for what there can be. Writing teaches me how to ask, and how to live in the unknown.

Whenever I write, the moment instantly feels entirely dedicated to the words that I see before me.
I let them become and fill the space around and within me.

CLARITY

DEDICATION

If it was only one characteristic that I can choose to describe the practice of writing, it would be clarity.
Everything, no matter how complex or simple, becomes clearer when you choose any words to describe it.

NOTEBOOKS

These books I carry with me wherever I go. They are my support and my platform at any moment. Anything that I see, feel, or encounter in anyway, is allowed and encouraged to find itself on these pages. These books have led me to see what I notice and how. And what kind of movements the world sets loose in me.

POETRY COLLECTION

Ever since I started writing poetry it has become a special and distinct place for me. In my poems, I can and must be vulnerable instantly and easily. It just happens. The precision, rhythm, and oddly specific order of poetic writing draws me back to it again and again.

What I love about the creation of poems is that it practically forces you to express something incomplete. To reveal yourself mid-thought, preferably while you are not even aware of the thought yourself yet. For me, poetry challenges me to let go of conceptually approaching everything I do and write. It urges me to not be afraid of the chaos that one can cause.

In 2023 until 2024 I wrote a book called 'Extractions'. While it wasn't the first book I ever wrote, it is the first one I published via the publication house Story One. This book provided me with a wonderful space in which I could express my thoughts and being with the use of my words.

AUTHOR OF 'EXTRACTIONS'

Looking back now, I can see how the areas I chose to write about then, were the ones that I lived for the most during the time of writing this book. They were the elements that intrigued me the strongest in the life I discovered I was living.

Each chapter is accompanied by one of my self-portraits that I took in that time. I chose the ones that I felt as though they could visualise most what I had to say in each  chapter.

Conclusion

Conclusion

The book is a collection of fifteen essays that each explore a different component of life. I mostly utilised this book to examine the way I think and to understand and discover what I believed in at that very moment.
While I have since evolved, this book remains a precise document of who I was then.
